Laith leads the Group’s work on industrial decarbonisation, with a particular focus on UK manufacturing and heavy industry, including sectors such as steel, glass, cement, chemicals and ceramics. He also focuses on the role of biomass in a low carbon economy, and aligning the UK Emissions Trading Scheme with net zero. Laith is a member of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation’s Advisory Group on Green Public Procurement, via the Industrial Deep Decarbonisation Initiative.
Prior to joining Aldersgate Group, Laith worked at The Whitehall & Industry Group and New Internationalist. He holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from Goldsmiths College, University of London. In his spare time, Laith is a keen ceramicist, plays guitar, and enjoys architecture and visiting art galleries.
